Established 2006

bullet imagebullet imageThe Murraguldrie Veterans Retreat was established in 2006 as a place of solace and solitude for local Vietnam Veterans. Established by the Vietnam Veterans it is currently maintained as a retreat for all Veterans by the Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia (NSW) South West New South Wales (VVAA)

Welcome to the Murraguldrie Veterans Retreat.

The retreat is located in the Murraguldrie State Forest area. The signposted entry is 6.5km east of the Hume Highway on the Wagga Wagga-Tumbarumba Road and the retreat itself is about 100m off the main road.

The retreat is available to veterans and their families and provides good bush camping with basic facilities for both caravans and tents. There is TV and mobile reception at the site. There are fire rings for cooking and there is a wood heater in the shelter shed for use in the cooler months; some wood is available, but again please use it sparingly as the wood has to be cut and transported in.

We operate on a 'bring it in - take it out" policy, so please clean up the kitchen area and take any rubbish with you as there is no garbage collection facility.

Murraguldrie Veterans Retreat

Acknowledges the the Wiradjuri people, the Traditional Custodians of this land on which we meet.

We recognise the continuing connection to traditional lands and waters and we pay respect to the Elders past, present and emerging.

We also pay respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women who have contributed to the Defence of Australia in times of peace and war.
